Kappa Alpha Theta places a strong emphasis on scholarship and is constantly fostering a sense of intellectual growth and continued education among its members. As leading women, it is extremely important to the women in our chapter to excel academically as well as socially. Thetas hold a broad range of disciplines from Business to Early Childhood Education to Chemistry and many more! Furthermore, Thetas are involved in myriad of positions and organizations across campus. These span from being tutors, research assistants, and holding membership in academic honors societies!
Currently, our chapter has a grade point average (GPA) above the All-Sorority Average and All-Panhellenic Average. We strive to maintain GPAs above both those averages because the women in our chapter are dedicated to their academics and succeeding scholastically. Sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta also have the opportunity to receive scholarships from our philanthropy, the Theta Foundation. Lastly, our chapter offers various programs that encourage members to excel academically. These programs range from study buddies to weekly study hours.

Zeta Tau Scholarship Programs
• Study Buddies – Sisters are paired with new members of similar majors to act as mentors and assist the new members with their classes.
• Smart Cookie – Every week we acknowledge sisters who earned A’s on exams, projects, quizzes, or homework. Those sisters then have the chance to answer a Theta Trivia question in order to win a gift card to Insomnia Cookies!
• House Cup – Sisters submit all of their good grades in order to earn points for their team. At the end of the semester, the team with the most points wins a prize!
• Study Hours – Sisters are welcome to host study hours at their favorite study locations around campus! Locations include the Morris Library, Brew Haha!, Panera, and more.
• Scholarship Banquet – In the fall, our chapter hosts a banquet that recognizes sisters with term GPAs of above a 3.5. In addition, sisters with a 4.0 term GPA are awarded a scholarship pearl that they can wear on their badge.
